Gareth is an award-winning children’s author and immersive theatre maker for children, who believes passionately in the power of fiction to motivate children’s curiosity and broaden their horizons. He has a background in education with over twenty years experience with children in classrooms around the world, including in Japan, India, Spain and the United States. His writing for children won the Bath Children’s Novel Award, and shortlistings in the Times Chicken House Prize and New Media Writing Award. His expertise in online child safety comes from working at the British Council on their digital learning hubs and as a content developer for Pearson Education’s virtual reading platform, used by more than 8,000 teachers and 1 million children worldwide. He researches immersive storytelling for children at the University of Bristol, Cardiff and Bath Spa in the UK.
